The Rising of Cement reflects the rise and decline of Taiwan’s cement industry, now largely forgotten. This project seeks to reactivate the former cement facilities and restore their cultural relevance. It consists of two base: Base A, the manufacturing plant, and Base B, the quarry, connected by a mineral cableway. The design retraces the cement production process in reverse—from product to raw material—through three concepts and six spatial nodes.By reframing cement as both cultural and touristic value, the project fosters a renewed public understanding and breathes new life into both Base.
