Traditional arches rely on heavy materials, making construction slow and labor-intensive. This project explores thin-shell structures using lightweight materials for greater flexibility, larger spans, and complex shapes. Using parametric tools, the design integrates a folded plate system for strength and bi-directional strip layering for stability. Components are laser-cut for mass production and systematic assembly. The final 1:1 prototype, made of 4mm plastic sheets, is lightweight, efficient, and easy to assemble with just 1–3 people, ensuring rapid, cost-effective construction.
