By 2500, Hong Kong has become a desert wasteland blanketed in spice, a substance shifting between sand and energy. The Fremen, a hardened desert tribe, settle in Tai Kok Tsui’s skeletal ruins and build a fortified palace. Tunneling underground, they uncover a buried city and convert it into a factory, refining spice into energy to sustain their rule. Their dominance falters when House Atreides invades, seeking the reserves. Struggling against the harsh desert, the Atreides are outmaneuvered and crushed. Survivors are enslaved, forced to toil in the subterranean spice factory.
