The Cochrane Home - the product of a smarter, more efficient housing delivery system - stands as a prototype for a new future of housing: better designed, greener, and more attainable. Nestled on a narrow 30-foot-wide infill lot in Detroit, the project transforms a challenging site into a vibrant and resilient urban home. Every aspect of this 1600 square foot home - from its massing to its digitally-fabricated service cores - was shaped by a computationally-driven, iterative process focused on achieving the greatest social, environmental, and economic outcomes with the least resource input.
