This photograph is from my photoessay documenting 375 miles of the Yangtze River valley before it was flooded by the reservoir behind the massive Three Gorges dam. I saw the umbrella from a distance and wanted to see what the possibilities might be to incorporate it in an image. There was no way to know she would stop under the bridge! It was a memorable moment when I saw the triangular forms repeating.
