Harbin Grand Theatre in Heilongjiang, China, designed by MAD Architects and completed in 2015, is located on Songhua River's wetlands. Its sculptural form, inspired by natural erosion and flowing water, features sweeping, organic curves clad in white aluminum panels and glass. The theatre accommodates 1,600 seats in the grand hall and 400 in a smaller hall. Its diagrid glass structure allows natural light while withstanding harsh climates, blending architecture with regional identity and nature.
