Lin'an People's Square has been designed with a landscape that transitions from low in the south to high in the north, creating a water-and-mountain garden layout. Entering from the southern entrance and walking north, the "mountain" gradually rises. A greenway loops through the "mountain ridge," enclosing the southern plaza in a U-shape, resembling a traditional "armchair" placed within the square.
