Hiking your camera equipment, food and clothes up hill to the highpoint on which The Nest sits pulls you from the clutches of urbanity. Indeed, the multi-faceted steps in the journey to this remote Gulf Island location allows you to pull away and disengage, just as the building is disconnected from all services–totally self-sufficient and off grid. This removal in turn informed my approach to the photography.The simple geometric form of the architecture sculpts exterior and interior space.The minimal interiors reconfiguring your outlook and connecting you directly to nature in all directions.
