The cultural complex called MAAT in district Belem in Lisbon designed by Amanda Levete’s practice AL_A looks like a huge creature from the water that has then been frozen in gleaming ceramics. This curvaceous building is a low wide form with a cut in its underside widening from one side, like the mouth of a shark, facing the river Tagus below it.
