The Wave is the title I chose for the Mediopadana Station in Reggio Emilia, where the structure seems to be in motion through a sequence of white steel portals that create a wave-like effect.
The architecture of stations is the design of waiting and movement: vast spaces that embrace travelers, arches and lines that seem to stretch toward distant horizons. Calatrava is one of the few architects who is also a structural engineer and sculptor. His works are three-dimensional expressions that combine technical rationality with visual poetry.
