Built in the 1800s overlooking Bathsheba on the east coast of Barbados, Tenby was originally a beachfront guesthouse with eight rooms and cottages. In 1946 it was transformed into a boutique hotel, eventually expanding to include 24 guest rooms, separate villas, a large restaurant and swimming pool. Harsh coastal weather and declining revenue led to its closure in 2012. Purchased by a new owner with a vision to return Tenby to its beach house origins, much of the structure was demolished in 2015–16. After multiple design changes, renovations began in 2022 and were completed in late 2024.
