Under the Canopy Nogeyama Zoological Gardens

Designed by Koizumi Atelier, Nakayoshi Plaza is the first phase of the renewal of Nogeyama Zoological Gardens in Yokohama. Three buildings are tied together by timber HP shell roofs made from straight members, their heights adjusted to the sloping site to bring in daylight and air. Photographed from ground level and above, from day into dusk, the series follows the changing geometry of the roofs and their relationship to terrain, scale and public use.
