Where Paths Cross

This project is located in Longgang, one of the small towns along Taiwan’s West Coast Railway Line. The building is a timber pavilion designed as a medium for brief encounters. It provides a place for residents, cyclists, anglers, and visitors from the city to stop and stay for a while. However, when the town eventually declines to the point where the pavilion is no longer needed, it will be dismantled and relocated. It is therefore a form of public architecture that can appear in different towns along the West Coast Railway Line, accompany a place for a period of time, and eventually leave.
