Airds Seniors Housing

Airds Seniors Housing is a social housing development for Homes NSW that supports ageing in place and strengthens community connection. Elevated above a dense tree canopy, the architecture responds to the site’s topography to maximise light, air and greenery through shaded terraces, generous gardens and communal spaces. Robust masonry and trellised screens reinterpret familiar domestic forms in a contemporary language. Curved, articulated buildings separated by landscaped breaks reduce perceived bulk, create a humane scale, reinforce neighbourhood links and set a benchmark for social housing.
