This project explores the potential of standard post and beam structures, challenging the limitation of this seemly normal structure system. So the question is: if columns and beams are the only elements, what unique spaces can be created? Can this system organize complicated programs? Here is the system I developed. In a rigid grid, if some columns are removed, beam depth must increase for stability. As a result, this space is differentiated for another program. With different column densities set as two ends, there will be many possibilities in between, just like color gradients.
