At Hexi Village on Poyang Lake, village life, farmland, and migratory habitat converge along a fragile shared wetland edge. The project reorganizes proximity across four roles: protected habitat for birds, productive fields for villagers, low-disturbance routes for visitors, and ecological learning and monitoring for stewards. A lightweight, reversible timber system forms an elevated loop of screened paths and observation points, while habitat buffers and seasonal access regulate disturbance. Together, these strategies support long-term habitat recovery and a shared home for people and birds.
