The project aims to reimagine Kannai into a sensory cultural living room for Yokohama as an intimate social space, where its unique East-meets-West identity is strengthened, and social connections are fostered through the beauty of nature and culture. To achieve the vision, a community installation will be deployed on Sakura-Dori Street periodically during the “Sakura-Dori Open” Festival to create a sustainable platform for gathering and interaction, inject long-term streetscape vibrancy, and transform the corridor from an everyday transitional space into a pedestrian-centric destination.
