The Urban Gallery: Reimagining Public Space Through a City-Scale Mural Network

Providence is a city shaped by creativity. The project reimagines an obsolete parking garage and its surrounding site as a vibrant public destination that celebrates Providence's city-scale mural network. Rather than creating new public art, the design transforms existing murals into a connected cultural landscape- elevated terraces, framed viewpoints, and public spaces offer new perspectives for experiencing the city's vibrant art, social interaction, and economic activity. By treating the site as an open-air gallery, the project redefines the role of landscape as a medium for reconnection.
