Today, buildings struggle to adapt to change, often leading to demolition and contributing to a third of the world's waste. Tessellated Biomes challenges that linear lifecycle with swarms of custom quadrupedal robots that disassemble and rebuild structures from the same reusable parts. Self-aligning 5 cm blocks in PLA, timber, and concrete are made in local microfactories, arranged by a stock-aware optimizer, and assembled by collaborative robots. Physical prototypes include a 1.5 m stair rearranged into a walkable bridge: architecture adapting to meet the changing needs of its inhabitants.
