It's designed by The Design Institute of Landscape & Architecture, China Academy of Art. Centered on the core concepts of stacked rice paper and blank ink-wash aesthetics, the architecture interprets Xuan paper culture through a minimalist modern design. The building itself stands as a three-dimensional ink-wash scroll, nestled against the green mountains of southern Anhui and erected alongside the water. The main structure adopts white fair-faced concrete that retains the texture of formwork casting, featuring a clean and plain tone echoing the pure white base of rice paper.
