Dove Lake Viewing Shelter

This series looks at Dove Lake Viewing Shelter as a quiet place between the wild landscape and the people passing through it. What interested me was how the shelter does not compete with the lake or the mountains. It sits low and calm in the landscape, using dark materials, concrete, timber and long framed views to create a place to stop, look out and take in the weather. The photos focus on that feeling walking in through the boardwalk, standing under the roof, watching the light change over Dove Lake, and seeing the building become part of the landscape rather than separate from it.
