The Library of Birmingham was designed by Dutch architects Mecanoo. Having visited several times during previous commissioned work in the city, I set up a visit to photograph the building for my own portfolio. It comprises an array of different spaces across multiple levels, and its interior scale is hugely surprising. I set out to capture that as well as how its form and facade offer a backdrop to public life that juxtaposes with the much older neighbouring buildings.
