Fogo Island Artist Studios, Newfoundland, Canada, designed by Todd Saunders — This commissioned project unfolded over several years, taking me repeatedly to remote Fogo Island, known as one of the four corners of the earth and “far away from far away.” Across the seasons, I photographed the four artist studios in dramatic settings and ever-changing weather and light. Each studio reveals a distinct and harmonious relationship between architecture and the rugged landscape, shaped by its particular place.
