The James-Simon-Galerie is the newest building on Berlin's Museum Island, opened in 2019. Architecture by David Chipperfield Architects Berlin. All surrounding structures are historic buildings from the 19th and early 20th century. It is not only the only new one on the island — it is also strikingly beautiful. Glowing in modest white on the outside, inside it reveals cool concrete and moments of stillness and quiet precision. Early mornings in Berlin are best to see her.
