The stairwell

Light, rhythm, and movement. A staircase is, first and foremost, a connection between floors. But sometimes it becomes a place in its own right — a connection, in a more philosophical sense, between earth and sky. The stairwell at Eilersminde Nursing Home is altered by Matters Arkitekter in collaboration with artist Anne Nowak. An everyday environment that, for a moment, feels like something else.
