Sanctuary of Stillness

This luxury residence in China pairs warm timber with clean materials to create a multi-level sanctuary. At its heart, a double-height living room is defined by an intricate wooden kumiko latticework screen that subtly filters light across the open, gallery-like space. Modern Japanese elements define the home's dedicated wellness retreats. A sunken-tatami tea room encased in timber slats provides an inviting venue for gathering while the dedicated Zen room is crafted for meditation with shoji-inspired translucent panels that diffuse light into a tranquil glow.
