Timeless Chicago Loop

The Chicago Loop remains amazingly identifiable to the eye no matter how it grows, evolves, or modernizes because it retains its core history, infrastructure, and identities when doing so, often literally. The challenge for the observer is to recognize that timelessness of place for Chicago is not obtained in memories of events there long ago, nor in the specific materials or technologies used, nor always in the specific buildings and structures, but rather that timelessness lives within the repeating rhythms of how the city functions, a truth that is evidenced by what still goes on every day.
