MOVING MOUNTAINS Using higly technical, post-stressed solid stone construction, a new wine chai and shop frame a town-house and its park, tying the project to its context. The chai forms an undulating garden wall in stone, relates to the wine terraces above the site, while the porous walls create ideal conditions for wine. Ramps in the chai allow visitors to discover the wine process, and lead to views to the hills from a roof terrace. A shop forms the opposing garden wall, a linear space behind shading, staggered stone pillars.
