MC Bauchemie from Bottrop, one of the world's leading companies for concrete and concrete formulations, launched an architectural competition in autumn 2014 to expand the plant to include offices and logistics. SSP emerged as the winner. The jury's reasoning focused on the composition of the selected structure, the arrangement of the office as a "crown" as well as the proposed colour and choice of material.
