International competition for an iconic world-class cultural building, 21-century symbol of the independent Lithuania (in collaboration with Arup). A metaphor of a hilltop temple or a Baltic pine forest, the light-filled cubic array of tall slim white columns over a reflection pool shelters the inner "sacred" volume reminiscent of a glowing piece of amber. As visitors move up the hill, the building unveils itself from different angles. The building accomodates two auditoriums, exhibitions spaces, co-working spaces, cafes, shops, outdoor activities, and provides panoramic views of Vilnius.
