Serving both VIPs and general patients, Taikang Tongji International Hospital is designed to attract the best surgeons and researchers. In a nod to Wuhan’s history of wealth in its many lakes and rivers, the hospital is situated adjcent to a canal and bridges the city and its surrounding neighborhoods. Pedestrian access throughout the site and public amenities promote wellness and engage the local community. A series of sunken courts connect the clinics and the chassis, creating hubs of interaction and activity. The campus is woven together by a modular terraced landscape.
