The Balancing Act is a children’s playground balancing the act between water and landscape. The project uses tides of Hudson River to create a moving playground—a floating structure on the water and a shifting walkway on the river bank. The Balancing Act uses the law of lever. It has two parts: six walk paths sitting on concrete columns as a lever extending into the Hudson River and an indoor playground attached to them floating on water. The Balancing Act rides the tides of the Hudson River and drives the entire structure in a harmonious vertical motion.
