The AC by Marriott at 842 6th Avenue, NYC, will be the tallest modular hotel in the world--and a step forward for modular design. Every room has been factory-built down to the light switches, enabling construction at a rate of a floor per day. But efficiency doesn't preclude aesthetics. Our arresting facade uses gradations in light and texture to transcend modularity, resulting in a stylish and architecturally expressive tower, which tops a cast-in-place podium where the amenity spaces are located. It's a perfect marriage of modular construction and inventive architectural design.
