The project site is in the tranquil nature near Niseko Ski Resort. The natural platform opens towards unobstructed views of Mt. Yotei. The design considered how to incorporate the beautiful scenery into various spaces, times and seasons. The architecture is comprised of 3 blocks along the landform, representing different uses and level of privacy. The alternating roof shapes open LDK for the panoramic views, while bedrooms are framed by low eaves. The sloped rear side becomes a green wall in summer and covered by snow in winter, giving the LDK space a pleasant feel of floating in the forest.
