Kanda Terrace

Located in a central Tokyo neighborhood, it was essential that this building appear attractive to those passing by, creating the image of a building that is full of restaurants. The building has a recessed façade with three-dimensional stacked terraces, each terrace an outside extension to the restaurant’s space; appearing as a lively theater scene to those on the street below. The black framed joinery work makes the building stand out as an entity in its own right, allowing each restaurant unit to stand out clearly from the others. In this urban context, this new building aims to deliver a new type of public character.
