Museum of Traditional Mongolian Medicine tackles the ambiguous and challenging situation with a design strategy in-between city and nature, floating and anchoring, underground and above-ground, day and night, just like the intricate balance of the human body advocated by traditional Mongolian medicine. It creates an ethnic-cultural hub that not only embodies the endangered cultural identity of local Mongolian people, but also envisions a sensitive and respectful solution to the emerging conflicts between globalization and localization.
