Hasselt City Hall is truly embedded in the heart of the city. The newly built structure complements and reinforces the existing monumental building, to which it connects by way of a public plaza. This plaza is reflected in the new building’s slanting façade, creating a special connection. The base of the new building matches the heights of the other, nearby buildings. The upper part of the building reflects both the sky and the surroundings. The green roof on the third floor connects to the buildings next door.
