The design of Liu Garden and Chinese Storytelling Museum extends the thinking of traditional Chinese landscapes and aesthetics, as well as a deep awareness of the local regional architectural style. Crucially, this was not just a statement but implemented throughout. The designers tried to reduce the sense of form and design, using comprehensive intuition and the psychological aesthetics of a traditional space, replacing the pure visual form of pleasure. Lao Tzu said, "Plain, rather than showy" and this is an appropriate interpretation of this project. The designers consider it to be the Chinese interpretation of "new regionalism".
