Located in Sydney’s Royal Botanic Gardens, the opening of The Calyx was the centrepiece to the Garden’s 200th Birthday celebrations. The construction of this ‘Jewel in the Garden’ revives the former Tropical Centre as a world-class horticultural space, inviting the public to experience exhibitions never before possible in Australia. The radial geometry of the steel and glass addition grafts effortlessly onto the existing Arc Glasshouse, extending the available exhibition space, producing serene indoor and outdoor spaces integrating a greenwall and garden beds with exhibition and event areas.
