Revitalizing antique villages is critical in the context of urbanization in China. Fast-built concrete houses emerge rapidly, occupying the once picturesque countryside and creating conflicting vernacular architecture. This proposal strives to rescue and recondition the deteriorating antique house at Bapan Yard No.2 with sensitive intervention. Through rigorous analysis and engagement with the local community, a site-specific, environmentally-just proposal provides the opportunity to redefine the social and cultural qualities of Bapan village, reconciling traditions and modernity through architecture.
