Daniel Libeskind's Berlin Jüdisches Museum, an architectural synthesis of the cultural identity of a people, is also a tangible expression of the presence and role of Jews in Germany, but more than that it is an invitation to reconciliation - physical and spiritual - of the city of Berlin with the Holocaust. The building is characterised by gleaming galvanised walls, irregular lines and, on the ground, zigzag shapes depicting stars.
