The clients desired a retreat from hectic workdays in the city and a home that built a connection to the beautiful surrounding nature of the site. The conceptual layout opens and closes the building in different directions, transporting its inhabitants to a feeling of isolation and total privacy while opening up to the magnificent and dramatic views. The building is placed at height within the existing terrain — this allows the outdoor spaces to interact seamlessly with the natural landscape, the different functions to work in tune with the movement of the sun, and a balance to be created between privacy and views.
