A building compensating the side-effects of a “sleeping city”, Moncayo Club House is a community center for a typical middle class suburb on the outskirts of Mexico City. The club house constitutes the focal point of a new housing development. In formal terms, a single sculptural gesture encompasses the main access arch to the subdivision, with a club facility that houses a multi-purpose room, playroom, outdoor swimming pool and gymnasium. As if floating above the pool deck, the gymnasium affords a striking view of the lago esmeralda precinct and the valley of Mexico.
