The Winery in Kutjevo is located in Croatian Slavonia, in the Kutjevo city center — this is why we wanted it to be experienced as a city house. A clear architectonic design derives from this intent; the house fits into the city structure and yet remains contemporary. The initial inspiration came from a traditional wine cellar, with the winery being divided; the base is within concrete vaults which open and hide the space for wine aging in barrels. The barrels are placed in a street window, to make contact and invite passers-by; the concrete base comprises wine degustation facilities. The upper part is in brick.
