The bridge, inspired by the ancient Anji Bridge in Zhaoxian, China, is entirely printed by the robotic arm printing system which is independently researched and developed by our team. It adopts a single arch to bear the load with a span of 14.4 meters. The bridge is divided into 176 pieces in order to be printed efficiently. They are all made of composite polyethylene fiber concrete with high strength. The printing and construction requires no formwork or reinforcing bars and enrols small amount of labor, resulting in a more than one-third-less cost, compared to traditional concrete bridges.
