Chieng Yen community house is surrounded by an impressive and picturesque landscape. The process of site selection and design were carefully considered for local people’s accessibility and tourist attraction. Inspired by head scarf and traditional house of the local ethnic groups, the building appears to be a both strange and familiar focus point, which is the result of a long-time study on vernacular wisdom, based on local resources: economy, culture, local labors and materials. Not only strengthen community bond, the building also contributes to the sustainable development of the region.
