Scripted around a 4,000-year-old tomb, the Mleiha Archaeological Center is located in the UAE at the meeting between the desert and the mountains. The placement of the Center was carefully considered, respecting its historic nature and setting in a potential World Heritage Site. The sacred Bronze age Tomb in its stunning surroundings had to be reframed and celebrated. The form of the building was generated with the Tomb at its heart. Rippling concentric walls are extended to lead visitors to the entrance, the tomb, or the roof, creating a strong dialogue between building, monument and place.
