A stark contrast to the surrounding urban environment, NOVUS created a light-filled space with a courtyard that brings the outside in, where teachers and students can feel surrounded by nature. Undulating walls and soft curves feature throughout the interior, filling almost all of the possibly surface, lined in wood or painted in a spectrum of light, neutral colors. Playful and colorful, yet transparent and structured, the design’s artful and pragmatic use of patterns and texture ensures that the school is packed with visual interest while capitalizing every teaching moment.
