The Bird canopy is a functional and signature aesthetic touch of the Xiamen Financial Centre. Sitting at the central axis of the drop-off area of the development where two pedestrian links meet, the functional canopy in the form of a wing-like sculpture is in a welcoming gesture which enhances the hotel guest experience from the start. Elements of geometry is also incorporated into its structural considerations. The Bird canopy is a crucial element for the transition from the development’s massive twin towers to the human scale space on the ground level, connecting with the streetscape.
