Tianjin Tractor Factory has made a vital contribution to the industrial development of New China of the 1950s. Due to increased urbanization, the walled Factory has potential to be upcycled and restore the importance and glory – developing heritage and scale from manufacturing to a place and scale for people – a Liveable Landmark of Tianjin. Based on the protection of the original style and grid structure and the combination different spaces, it realized the transformation from the past to the present, and the transformation from the factory to a place for food,entertainment and work.
